Amazon.com Review
Americans are just beginning to catch on to what Europeans have known for ages: Electric kettles boil water faster than stove-top kettles. This compact tea kettle holds a quart of water and boils it even faster than a microwave, with the added advantage of a built-in whistle to let you know when the water is ready. The more water in the kettle, the louder the whistle. A stainless-steel lid on the no-drip spout flips up for easy filling and pouring, and keeps steam away from hands. Two additional safety features: a maximum fill line on the spout prevents boil-overs, and a thermostat automatically turns off the heating element in case the kettle boils dry or gets plugged in while empty. The exterior of the kettle is stay-cool plastic, and the interior base is anodized to resist mineral build-up. Compact and lightweight with a 2-foot cord, the kettle measures 7 by 6-1/2 inches and comes with a one-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

67 of 67 people found the following review helpful great little kettle for the price, By This review is from: Presto 02703 Electric Tea Kettle (Kitchen) I've had this kettle for about 8 years and it works just fine. I use it on average 2 to 5 times a day. The whistle isn't quite as loud as it was in it's younger days, hence I've boiled it dry quite a few times, with no ill effects. The only drawbacks are the one quart capacity and dragging the cord around when I fill it. So, if you want an electric kettle for under $20, this is a good buy. 38 of 38 people found the following review helpful Convenient and extremely useful, By CLM (Boston) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Presto 02703 Electric Tea Kettle (Kitchen) I bought this teakettle online after searching the stores for something similar. I drink tea several times a day, and my office is a ten minute walk from the cafeteria. This way, I drink tea whenever I want at a fraction of the cost. The water heats up very quickly, and the teakettle never seems too hot to hold. Everyone who sees it wants one of her own.Highly recommended! 28 of 28 people found the following review helpful Excellent small kettle for a bargain price, By This review is from: Presto 02703 Electric Tea Kettle (Kitchen) I actually own two of these kettles for several years now. One at home, and one to make a quick tea/coffee at work. They make a quick job of boiling water, have a very loud whistle and just excellent overal. One thing to notice though - it will only hold three to four cups of water. Perfect for a small family, but not enough if you have more than 2 tea drinkers at home. I have not seen rust on either pot I own, so it's possible that the other reviewer had a bad unit. |
